Hello Gary, I couldn’t help but notice your post on 50 Essential ….. on Princess Cruises. I posted just below you, USMC, Okinawa, 1967-1968.
I just wanted to make a comment about Korea. I lived in Seoul in 2000, teaching English (while working on my masters). I traveled to a town called Sokcho (on the East Sea) not far from the DMZ. It’s a beautiful area, quiet, right on the beach. Seoul is surprisingly modern and, of course, crowded (millions of people and cars). The people there, especially my students, are very kind and friendly. They are easy to get to know. I think you might be surprised at how Korea looks. I would go back for a visit in a heartbeat. And, perhaps I will. Take care, Sandy
